On Thursday, March 11 and Thursday, April 15, we will host the first two stakeholder meetings for the qualifying field.

Those afternoons we want to look at the CRT as a platform together with representatives of certification bodies, examination institutes, scheme managers and trainers. A platform ensures that interaction and transaction is possible between different people. Where the main added value on the platform is provided by the users.

The result of the meetings for participants is that it gives them insight into their "What's in it for me and for my customers?

Programm

During these two meetings we will discuss the possibilities of the CRT as a platform. We start at 1.00 pm with a kick-off by Marcel van Lieshout (director CRT) and then we split up into groups online to actively work out issues and give feedback under the guidance of moderators. Moreover, during the second meeting two new board members for the CRT will be elected from your own ranks. The official program ends at 5:00 pm. Afterwards there will be an opportunity to talk some more.

Working together

The CRT is, of course, a platform. From the outside, you can see it simply as a database containing quality data. But if this data is to add real value, it is so much more than just a simple database. This can be done through platform services from CRT itself such as a Vakpaspoortapp, or through services from third parties such as providing data-driven career guidance.

By looking at the CRT from a platform perspective with the various parties involved in the CRT, we want to bring out the complexity of the qualifying field. A platform ensures that interaction and transaction is possible between different people. Where the main added value on the platform is provided by the users. The result is that it gives you insight into what you can gain from this and what problems the CRT could provide a solution for. This is the opportunity to have your influence, your voice heard and your say.

How to do it: Platform Design Toolkit

So from the outside, a platform can look very simple. But designing a platform is deceptively complicated. Even on the simplest platforms, there are a lot of components, functionalities, and services that matter. In addition, you need to take into account, as best you can, what others may be doing with your platform. This can also be related business.

By looking at it from the platform's point of view, we want to get a good picture of what exactly this complexity means for the CRT. And we hope to come up with new ideas about what the CRT could facilitate to help others solve their problems.

To make this complexity transparent to the CRT, we are going to use the Platform Design Toolkit. This is a method of making platforms insightful for everyone by applying your personal toolbox.

The toolkit is a roadmap consisting of six components:

  1. First, the ecosystem is mapped, from that, roles are defined;
  2. Then we look at the motivations of each role;
  3. And what the relationships between the roles are;
  4. The values and transactions that result from this lead to the formulation of interactions;
  5. And innovation (functionalities);
  6. From the latter, an MVP is finally defined.
