The origins of the Centraal Register Techniek

ISSO and InstallQ, along with its legal predecessors, stood at the cradle of the Centraal Register Techniek (Central Register for the Technology sector). What preceded?

In 2013, the QBISnl platform was established by the Foundation for Quality Assurance in Installation Technology (after several mergers, the KBI eventually became InstallQ) and the ISSO foundation. This happened partly at the request of the government, because no such quality register existed in the sector yet. The objective was to create a public register that would include all certified professionals and companies in the construction and installation technology sectors.

"Originally the register was aimed at the EP consultant, but soon expansion to other fields took place." Hans van den Berg, InstallQ

QBISnl grew more and more towards a database of installers and advisors who are competent or have certification. Eventually Uneto-VNI (now Techniek Nederland) and OTIB (now Wij Techniek) came up with the idea of setting up a central, independent register that would have even more social support. QBIS did not include all the diplomas and certifications because there is a great deal of fragmentation in that area.

"The width of the new register had to be greater and the scope increasingly clear: it had to be a registration of both companies and individuals." Jeanpaul van den Haspel, ISSO

The biggest challenge was to get the data completely in hand and reconcile it. This data was scattered across several sites, because a person can be registered in several databases. How do you tie this together?

"On behalf of ISSO, I provided insight into my experience with this sector to the automaker. That knowledge and overview helped them to match the data properly."
Jeanpaul van den Haspel

OTIB was at that time already working on a project to map and record the knowledge and skills of employees. In the contacts of all organizations involved, the idea then arose to combine the various developments. This led to the establishment of the Stichting Centraal Register Techniek by four parties: Techniek Nederland, NVKL, CNV Vakmensen and FNV Metaal. OTIB (now Wij Techniek) became the financier of the CRT.

Quality Register

The CRT is a quality register for both professional companies and professionals. We stand for quality and usefulness and thus contribute to the development of the sector. With the overview we also help professionals to continue their development throughout their lives. In this way we stimulate pride in the profession.
